It's funny but when you're building a site (especially with a big team where everyone is really specialized) you have a hard time seeing the big picture. I would have to agree with the lack of visual cues being counter-intuative, you should go and give the creative team a hard time ;-) If they don't buckle... send them to me and I will nag at them!
